July 5 - Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park

We are heading home today but decided to take a detour.  We had seen signs for Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park and decided it sounded like it was worth a visit.

On the way road to the park we ran across a couple of cowboys on horseback doing whatever it is that cowboys do.

The sand dunes were definitely pink...probably from the fact that it is made from the red sandstone in the area.

Amazing that there are flowers growing in the sand.

On the way back we stopped for dinner and dessert.  Yum.
